'Dead Ever After': Charlaine Harris on Sookie Stackhouse's final chapter -- EXCLUSIVE VIDEO

Reblogged from Shelf Life:

Ready your tissues, Sookie Stackhouse fans! Though True Blood is still going strong (hey, Billith!), Charlaine Harris' long-running book series chronicling the adventures of a mind-reading barmaid and her (many) supernatural lovers is finally coming to an end this May with Dead Ever After. We spoke to Harris about her future plans, saying goodbye to Sookie, and, most importantly (for this reporter anyways), what's been going on with the Viking Vampire God known as Eric.

Alexander Skarsgard and 'The East' crew talk anarchy at Sundance: VIDEO

Reblogged from Inside Movies:

The film may be a thriller, but the cast of The East -- which stars True Blood's Alexander Skarsgard and Juno's Ellen Page as founding members of an eco-anarchist group that is infiltrated by an FBI-trained corporate spy (cowriter Brit Marling) -- ended their visit to EW's Sundance interview lounge today with a laugh. Enjoy their conversation with director/cowriter Zal Batmanglij and EW's Anthony Breznican below.

*watches a tumbleweed roll by* Hello my fellow Viking Lovers, it has been very quiet here in Wenchville in recent months. The roller coaster that has been life has taken me through some wild turns this past year. As many of you know, blog/news wise I have teamed up with EricandSookieLovers.com (just over a year ago)... as we were posting the so many similar items, it made sense to combine our efforts. Especially when you need to balance fandom with real life obligations :) Though the fandom can be nuts sometimes... with character wars or competitions on who posts what first. Not to mention quality control... I'm sure you all know what I'm referring too. With all this going on, it was almost too tempting to walk away and just be a plain and simple fan because it was to much trying to manage twitter/tumblr/Facebook... and those pesky real life obligations that pay the bills... But then... I got messages of thanks for posting... and I remember the joy and excitement I have when I see a new picture of Eric or Alex or a new bit of book or true blood news. Or an excellent fan video that just makes you want to go wow. I am still a wench through and through. I love Eric, plain and simple.... in all forms; Books, TV Show, and fan art/fiction/videos. So THANK YOU for taking this wild ride with me ;)

A Change of Scenery

My Fellow Viking Lovers!

I know, I know… this blog has been lacking in the posts department for the past few months. As some of you may have noticed, I have been posting over at ericadnsookielovers.com as we decided to combine our forces to help spread the Viking love.

I will still be posting here on WenchMail (wordpress) from time to time. Though I will primarily be spreading the word via our Facebook page, Tumblr, and Twitter accounts.

Now remember to keep on loving the Viking no matter what :)

Peace, Love, and Viking!

Time flies while we are waiting

And we blinked. We have some how survived the long drought between Dead Reckoning and Season 4 of True Blood through the upcoming book release of Deadlocked (May 1st) and Season 5 (premiere date TBA). Thankfully, Mr Skarsgard has helped provide some much needed distraction this hiatus by keeping busy with filming of 3 movies (“What Maisie Knew”, “Disconnect”, and “The East”), release of 2 (“Meloncholia” and “Straw Dogs”) movies to the theatre and DVD, various appearances to promote his upcoming movie “Battleship”, and reports of fan encounters. He distracted us so much, we only posted to our Facebook page and Tumblr and not here to our blog. Silly Wench

But it looks like we are turning the corner! With only just a month till the release of Deadlocked, my anticipation is mounting to see what will happen in the next to last book in the series. Between the synopsis that are popping up and speculation with fellow viking lovers… one can not wait to have more Eric in her hands. It will make the wait till book 13 that much harder, because I do realize that there is more after Deadlocked and I dont think we will see anything resolved till the last page of the last book. This will be an exercise of patience. But for the Viking, I will pull on my big girl panties and wait for the last book.

And then there was True Blood

I know we all were bemoaning the fact that there has not been any true news from the True Blood camp beyond casting calls and a few teases that make us wonder if we the fans are being taken for granted to come back. Which after season 4, will be tough for some to do… if they come back to watch at all. I know last year wasn’t what we wanted, and I have yet to rewatch it on my DVR yet.  I am still looking forward to season 5, because I love Eric no matter what (through good story lines and “What the HELL were they smoking” story lines).

But I digress, for it seems our wait might be over thanks to the twitter account for True Blood’s tweet about some footage being shown Sunday night before “Game of Thrones” premiere. Will this be the much longed for promo that signals “True Blood is coming!”? Will the official premier date be announced? Will the promo be about ERIC? Ohh i just got goosebumps thinking about that one. One this for sure, I will be tuned in Sunday :)

Peace, love, and Viking!

Its a Spirit and Oscar filled weekend for Alexander Skarsgård

I know I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again… we all go crazy over a sharp dressed man, especially when his name is Alexander Skarsgård.

This past weekend had us all swooning over his appearance  with his brother Gustaf at the Independence Spirit awards. He and fellow Melancholia cast mate Kirsten Dunst sadly learned that their film did not win for Best International Film.

The next night (or early morning depending where you are in the world) was Oscar Night, and you know what that means… Alex +Tuxedo = *THUD*… at the Vanity Fair After Party. While he wasn’t at the ceremonies themselves, I predict he will be in the near future… especially with his talent

Now in case you have missed the pictures that have been floating around, check these out :)

Media blitz for Battleship is full throttle ahead

Batten down the hatches, there might be rough seas ahead!

The theatrical release Battleship is just around the corner (May 18th in the US), and the promotional machine is picking up knots.

Our favorite human behind the vampire, Alexander Skarsgård, was in New York last week for some of the promotional activities…and a few of the fashion week parties.. and we were in skarsheaven with all of the interviews and pictures!

Monday February 13th brought us pictures of Alex on Wall Street

and the Toy Fair

Along with a few interviews thanks to MTV.com and a few other sources… tis the  season to be squeeing.

Of course my favorite picture was taken by Michelle (@brushfirefairy on twitter)

Check out her blog for her experience in NYC and meeting the tall one :)

Peace, Love, and Viking!

Listening for Bells by Battleship… Alex Skarsgard to help ring in the NASDAQ week

What will “Battleship” and Wall Street have in common?

Alexander Skarsgård

As you may have seen tweeted by @skarsgardnews and various other fan sites, Alex, along with Peter Berg and members of Hasbro, will be ringing in the opening of NASDAQ on Monday February 13th. (see official press release from NASDAQ)

We, like many of you, will be waiting with “bells” on for pictures (and hopefully video) from Monday’s event.

Star Gazing: Alex in NYC

Its Fashion Week in NYC, and the stars aligned with our favorite human behind the vampire Alexander Skarsgård appearing at DeLeon Tequila Party to see The Kills

Ted Geshue of the New Your Observer caught a few moments with our fan favorite before the show and has the following posted on the Observer’s site.

Hold the phone, everyone just lost their shit. It’s Alexander Skarsgard. Let’s see if we can peel him away from the lunch line of twiggy models, shall we?

Here’s what went down:

“So Alex, we’d like to ask you one question, would that be alright?”

“Of course my friend, anything!” he beams.

“How did Alexander Skarsgaard get here?”

“Oh man, I really like this question! It would be so easy for me to say “The elevator””

We agreed.

“But look, I see that this is one of those really open ended questions, and I like that! So many things brought me here, but first it began with my mother and my father. I owe them everything. Oh, also I really like The Kills!”

We continued our chat on The Kills briefly till the nicest vampire we’ve ever met announced he had to pee, so we took the talk to the famed urinals of The Standard.

“So tell me this my friend from The Observer, how did you get here?” as we both unzip our jeans.

For the next few minutes Mr. Skarsgaard did the interviewing, and concluded (completely mistakenly) that we too would be able to be as lucky with the ladies as he is. We informed him, that while we were flattered, the two of us were definitely a few standard deviations apart…

It crossed our minds as wepped our flies and washed our hands that if there was ever a guy you’d want as a life coach, this is that guy.

Oh that’s right, The Kills are playing.

:)

Peace Love and Viking

The Art of a Tease

Our interest was piqued when we learned the other day that HBO would be airing the first official tease for the 5th season of True Blood

As they have in previous years, it was a short graphic that gives us a hint of what might be going on.

or not…

With the phrase “Nothing stays buried forever”, you have so many possibilities on who or what it could be applied to. The obvious reference choice is to Russell, but it could also be to the Reverend…. or even the history of how Eric made Pam. Or the history behind Nora/Godric/Eric.

I know I am stretching… but I am dying for some Eric only news

Time will only tell… as well as spoiler news that will hopefully make it onto the net… and maybe waiting will suck less

We voted for our favorite (blood) Sucker… and the results are in.

With True Blood Season 4 just around the corner for our Viking Lovers in the UK (airing on FX starting February 5th), waiting sucks a little bit less with the SFX Magazine: Vampire Edition.

Inside the magazine are the results of your votes for the Top 50 Vampires of 2012, where we find our Eric Northman coming in 2nd just behind Damon Salvatore.

Eric the Viking. Once a phrase that immediately meant “flop comedy from the Monty Python guy”. Now it means, “Top Nordic vampire hottie.” Bill was supposed to be the alpha vampire on True Blood, but – although far from unpopular – he was eclipsed by his blond nightclub owner boss in the popularity stakes (if “stakes” isn’t too sensitive a word to use).

Read the rest of the write up on SFX.com or in the Magazine (hopefully in a store near you)

The magazine also looks to include an in depth debate about True Blood, an interview with the human behind our Vikings’s Childe Kristin Bauer van Straten, and a few more goodies. Its like the state of the union rebuttle… True Blood style :)

I recommend checking it out if you can!
